About Us

We are located on the pristine prairie of North Dakota near the historical Pipestem Creek. Here earth's bounty is handcrafted into exquisite natural designs.

Pipestem Creek is located on the 5000 acre Reimers family farm where Ann Reimers Hoffert, owner and operator of Pipestem Creek, grew up. After living in other parts of the country for 22 years, Ann returned to her family farm with her husband in 1987.

Ann started Pipestem Creek in 1990. Pipestem Creek utilizes 4 acres to grow specialty sunflowers, specialty grains, and flowers for its natural designs.

Pipestem Creek creates all-natural home decorating accessories. Our products come from nature and return to nature as edible birdfeeders. Most designs are meant to initially grace the home before returning to nature to feed the birds. Some designs are nearly completely edible while other designs engage more flowers for color variation. All grains, grasses, and flowers composing the designs are entirely natural.

Costa Rica Vacation
A trip to Costa Rico by the Ernie & Ann Hoffert Family in 2004. All four daughters joined them in experiencing the rain forest as well as the beaches on this island. They were well prepared to see wild life having their binoculars within easy reach.

Of the 7 facilities utilized by Pipestem Creek, 5 are historic buildings, which have been moved to the farm and restored. Of these, one is a train depot and 4 are granaries. The depot is used for production and storage. Two granaries are used for drying. A little 10-sided wooden granary serves as a quaint gift shop.

A fourth granary has been moved onto the grounds and renovated into sleeping quarters. It will be an option for our lodging for birders.

We are located on one of the Birding Drives developed by Birding Drives Dakota and 5 miles from Arrowwood National Wildlife Refuge.

Visitors are welcome. Summer tours include all of the buildings and gardens.
